About

Matthew Rolison is an Arizona-based writer whose work spans more than two decades and includes a body of developed novels and short stories, primarily in fiction. His debut narrative non-fiction book, Free Spirit, traces his life after high school through a series of intense romantic relationships, examining how love, identity, and untreated mental health intersect beneath social stigma. Grounded in lived experience, his writing blends personal reflection with cultural critique, concerned with how people change and recover. He studied journalism during his time at the University of Tampa, where he served as a Lead Editor for the student newspaper, The Minaret. When not writing, he spends his time hiking and traveling.
